Dr Barbara Brownie is Assistant Dean of the School of Communication at the Royal College of Art. She has been studying the intersection of spaceflight and creative practice since 2015. Her investigation into the effects of weightlessness on clothing and fashion was published in Spacewear (Bloomsbury, 2019) and her more recent research into space as a site for contemporary art practice will appear in the forthcoming Art in Orbit (Bloomsbury, 2025).
