Dr. Halla Hazelrigg Bates is currently in the fourth year of her residency in Emergency Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital. Halla graduated from Bowdoin College with a degree in Anthropology and a minor in Spanish before going on to pursue a medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. In the coming academic year, Halla will start a fellowship in global health at Yale, which will involve continuing her work as a physician in addition to obtaining a master's degree in Planetary Health from the University of Edinburgh. With this degree, Halla hopes to further understand the complex interplay between population health and climate science.
