Located in the UNESCO-listed Old Town of Corfu, the Ionian University offers an ideal setting for intellectual exchange amid a landscape rich in cultural crossroads. Established in 1984, the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting — the first of its kind in Greece — continues to serve as a national and international hub for translation and interpreting studies, integrating research, innovation, and creativity. The Department’s European and international profile is further highlighted through the MA Science of Translation which is a proud member of the European Master’s in Translation (EMT) network.
Surrounded by sea and history, Corfu embodies the intersection of cultures, languages, and forms of expression that translation itself represents. Participants will experience not only a stimulating academic programme but also the island’s captivating architecture, Mediterranean atmosphere, and the genuine warmth of Ionian hospitality.
