Quite often, when talking about Machine-Generated Translation, we overlook the human factor. Starting from the basics, the presentation discusses the advantages and disadvantages of machine-generated translation and proceeds with the “Human-in-the-Loop” approach. After listing some of the most common Machine Generated Translation mistakes, specific examples are given and the ways to avoid them are discussed. Then follow the results of a short survey among translators on how they see Machine Generated Translation and how they feel about it. Results are discussed and a way ahead is proposed.
