Vasiliki Alexandri
Panteion University

Vaso Alexandri is a PhD candidate in the Department of Social Anthropology at Panteion University. She holds a BA in Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology and a BA in Early Childhood Education from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). She also holds an M.A. in Special Education from NKUA and an M.A. in Social and Cultural Anthropology from Panteion University. The broader remit of her research focuses on the ways in which social relations shape categories of personhood, such as disabled, Deaf, and hearing. Her work further examines the methodological and epistemological contributions of disability to social research, as well as the ways in which accessibility services generate relations of power and forms of epistemic injustice. Since 2021, she has been working as a Greek Sign Language interpreter in a wide range of settings, including on-set interpreting, remote relay services, academic conferences, and political events. She also provides Greek Sign Language interpretation for the news bulletin on Naftemporiki TV. Since February 2026, she has served as General Secretary of the Association of Greek Sign Language Interpreters. Her academic and professional interests lie at the intersection of critical theory, disability studies, philosophy, and social and cultural anthropology.
