Executive Board

The Executive Board is one of the three constitutional organs of UNESCO (the others being the General Conference and the Secretariat). It is a decision-making body, composed by 58 Member States. The members of the Board are elected by the UNESCO General Conference, which is held every two years.

The Executive Board meets twice each year to examine UNESCO's programs and the budget estimates submitted to it by the Director-General. It is actually responsible for the overall management of UNESCO.
