Ilias Spyridonidis
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

He has studied Italian Language and Literature at the homonymous Department of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He completed his postgraduate studies in Geopolitics of Culture at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and worked as a researcher at the ISIAO (Istituto Italiano per l'Africa e l'Oriente) of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He holds a ΜΑ in Intercultural Education and Intermediation from UNISOB and a PhD in Italian Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in Translation Studies & History of Translation. After a PhD scholarship from the Greek State (IKY), he studied at the Dipartimento di Studi Filologici, Linguistici e Letterari of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" with a research on the reception of translations of Italian Literature in Greek, on Intercultural Relations, on the Geopolitics of Culture and on Intersemiotic Translation. He is Assistant Professor at the Department of Italian Language and Literature, Faculty of Philosophy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in Translation and Semiotics, with a special focus on Italian Literature.
